Inguinal hernia
Inguinal hernia
Inguinal hernia is localized in the lower part of abdomen, above the thigh, nearby or in groin. It may appear from both sides of pubis and then we speak about bilateral inguinal hernia. Inguinal hernia, together with femoral hernia are both types of hernias, formed in groin.
Inguinal hernias are classified as “direct” or “indirect”.
Indirect inguinal hernia arises at weakness of internal inguinal aperture.
Direct inguinal hernia is resulting from weakness of the floor of inguinal canal and is more frequent in individuals over 40 years of age.
Inguinal hernia
Femoral hernia, together with inguinal hernia, are hernias localized in groin. They are more frequent in women and pregnancy and delivery play role for their appearance. These hernias are complicated very often by entrapment and therefore timely operation is recommended, if diagnosed.
